The line-up of the Bundesjazzorchester changes every two years. The current Bujazzo generation 2025/26 was selected from 3-5 January 2025 at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. The next auditions will take place again at the beginning of 2027.
The application process for the Bundesjazzorchester is a two-stage process. Firstly, the application is made via an online application questionnaire including video upload. After reviewing and evaluating the application, the jury then invites the applicant to an audition.
Applications for the Bundesjazzorchester will be possible again from summer 2026. As soon as the application process starts, we will make the information available here.
Jazz-loving musicians who live in Germany or are German citizens living abroad can apply for the Bujazzo.
The maximum age in the Bundesjazzorchester is 24 years for instrumentalists and 26 years for singers. Applications for the 2027 audition are therefore possible up to the age of 22 (for singers up to the age of 24). The deadline is the day of the audition.
