With the CD "Cuban Fire", the Bundesjazzorchester pays tribute to Jiggs Whigham and his tireless commitment to the ensemble. Jiggs Whigham was associated with the Bujazzo as Artistic Director from 2011 to 2020 and was already an inseparable part of the Bujazzo DNA as a teacher and mentor. Without Jiggs Whigham, the BuJazzO would not be where it is today. At this special moment, the Bujazzo says THANK YOU from the bottom of its heart with fresh recordings from Johnny Richards' "Cuban Fire Suite", which is exemplary of Jiggs' own past in the Stan Kenton Band, his personality and his musical standards of quality and big band sound.
